Red Light Tanning beds produce a wavelength of between 600 to 660 nm (nanometres) which is outside of the range of UV. Red light is also sometimes referred to as infrared because light between 600 – 770 nm is classified as near infrared. Red light is able to penetrate deep into the skin and can work to repair damaged tissue and nerves. It is completely non-invasive and does not contain any UV components. Because red light therapy takes place in a full sized tanning bed, it treats the entire body not just the face.
Red light works under the skin to bring more blood to the skins surface and boost circulation. It also helps to increase the production of elastin and collagen.
